Like CARVING? P2P3 is coming Soon!
So I take it you are probably not thinking about hips? Rather changing the direction your upper body is facing and letting hips look after themselves - is that right?
Bit of a BFO reading that. May have already heard it in your vids or from other instructors but, if so, it never really sunk in until your post.
I try not to think of changing the direction the upper body is facing... rather I just try to lead with the lower body while my upper body just continues to face the direction of momentum.
I like the way that's expressed: "face the direction of momentum".
When the instructor says "Keep a stable upper body" it's all well and good. But stable with reference to what? Heard it expressed as "face the forces". Well, which forces? Not sure it's a good idea to spend too much time facing the vertical force of gravity. Also heard "face tree/rock/sign at bottom of run" and "face the fall line" which were useful in short radius situations, less so in wide radius.
Probably the closest was "face the inside of the next turn". Whatever way, I think I finally got the point last season.
Going to have more questions on what you are thinking about during the phases of a carving turn however it can wait until I'm finally on snow. This Saturday - yippee! Only 12,000 km to go.
What's the latest on the release date for P2P3?
The missus asked if I'd like anything in particular for Xmas and I thought about this vid. Any update on a possible release date?
Frantically trying to find the time to get it done... but that’s been proving harder than I’d like. It’s not far off, and if I had any days off between now and Christmas I would say it’s doable... but the way things are looking it’s more likely going to be early in the new year.
I finally finished the darn thing... will be releasing in the next couple days!
Now I can get back building out this SkierLab Site:)
*throws money at the screen*
Looking forward to it!
So exciting!! 🍻
Awesome 🤗 !!
Bought, downloaded and watched. It doesn't disappoint. Just like the previous 2 videos in the series, it's full of nuggets of information. Well worth waiting for.
I think if anything the filming is even better than the previous offerings. Next year has to be Nigel's year for the Oscars.
