Not far from Santiago, nestled among 6,000 metre peaks of the Andes is the cozy ski village of Farellones with three interconnected resorts on its’ doorstep: Valle Nevado, El Colorado and La Parva make up Chile’s largest ski area.

This camp is ideal for any strong intermediate to expert level skier who experiences overwhelming snow withdrawal during the northern summer months. It’s the perfect opportunity to develop your ski technique while sampling Chilean culture, food… and perhaps a little wine.

Nestled at the end of the spectacular Tux Valley in the Austrian Tyrol and just a quick 800 metre shuttle ride from the gondola station, our hotel is 4 stars with a pool, saunas, great food and great drink.

The skiing and riding in Hintertux is just as good. Open 365 days a year it is one of the few places guaranteed to have decent snow in early November. In fact most years we’ve experienced excellent mid winter conditions with a variety of good on and off piste options to challenge everyone’s skiing and riding.

Kids Holding you back? No problem they will be more than entertained at the most amazing day care facilities just down the road.

Five days skiing or boarding with your favorite Section 8 coaches and seven nights to have stimulating conversation with friends both old and new! This camp is open to any intermediate to expert level skiers or boarders who would like to improve their skills before the winter season starts.

Do you want to go faster… go slower… go left more…. go right more? Maybe you want to carve up the groomers with sweeping arcs or make your turns shorter and snappy. Perhaps you want to shred powder, bumps, trees or steeps? On Section 8’s Science Friction camps you determine the objective… and like mad scientists in a snowy laboratory we’ll help you discover your inner ski geek.

Video analysis sessions will help you differentiate your perceptions from reality as our top certified coaches perform a double blind placebo controlled study on your skiing. Whatever the terrain, whatever the conditions, through guided experimentation you’ll discover how to best adapt your technique and tactics to the situation at hand.

Don’t worry, it won’t be all talk. There will be plenty of time for guided mileage and pushing your boundaries.

We’ll wind down each day with a little apres ski social with one evening reserved for a nice group meal to reflect on your recent skiing discoveries… and perhaps tell a tall tale or two.

4 DAYS OF All MOUNTAIN SKI IMPROVEMENT

Do you have a snow sport dependency? If so our Revel-steep session is a great excuse to test your thighs on North America’s longest vertical.

This camp is suitable for intermediate to expert level skiers whether your looking to make your first turns off the groomers, prepare yourself for a day of heli-skiing, train for that next level of instructor certification… or push your envelope on Revelstokes steepest and gnarliest.

We’ll balance coaching with lots of guided mileage in the vast bowls, bumps, tree runs and chutes that Revelstoke is famous for and if you’re up for the ultimate powder experience you’ll have the option to add a day of heli-skiing or cat skiing with Selkirk Tangiers.

The ‘She Shreds’ ski & snowboard camp at Mount Cain is designed to hone your skills in all types of terrain in a fun, all female environment. You’ll learn not only what to do to improve your technique, but also why these strategies are effective and how to apply them to varying terrain and snow conditions.

Video analysis will be available (weather permitting) and is a great tool to further your understanding. This combination means you’ll leave the camp with new skills to handle whatever the mountain throws at you.

Riding with a great group of women will help you push your comfort zone and build confidence in a supportive atmosphere. As well as high end coaching from an experienced instructor, the camp includes morning warm ups and a warm down and stretch session on Saturday afternoon. Not forgetting the all-important après session on Saturday evening to round out an unforgettable girls’ weekend!

Having more ski resorts than any other country, it’s quite surprising that until a decade or so ago, Japanese ski hills received little attention and remained relatively undiscovered by most western shredders. Now, after a few ski & board movies put Japan in the lime light, the secret is out and you have undoubtedly heard countless stories of its legendary neck deep powder.

It’s true the skiing is great and we all love powder. There’s no doubt about that! But in Japan, the ridiculous snow fall is only a small part of the experience. On Section 8’s Snow Ninja tour, not only will you be shralping pow and technique geeking it out with Section 8 coaches on some of Japan’s best slopes… but you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the uniqueness of the ultra friendly and often a little quirky Japanese culture. We’ll stay in traditional Japanese Ryokan’s, eat what has to be the world’s most delicious and elegantly presented food, and spend plenty of time soaking our tired limbs in soothing onsens (traditional Japanese hot springs).
