Advancing beyond the intermediate plateau requires the confidence to increase speed and difficulty of terrain. At this point many people have the desire to get off the groomers and into small bumps or off-piste.

One of the most important tools to get you exploring more advanced areas of the mountain is a solid short radius turn.

From a Basic Parallel turn, try to gradually narrow the corridor, increase the speed and pick up the rythym. As you move to steeper terrain try to keep your speed consistent and under control.

Demonstration Objectives:

  • Consistent Speed (especially as terrain steepens)
  • Linked with consistent rythym
  • Narrow(ish) corridor (2m to 5m)
  • Parallel skis
